The FD Linacre trophy/Ingenue 2 was a 22nm race last Saturday in beautiful conditions with an enormous downwind leg which suited our spinnaker handling well. The only prob was at the Yarra mouth where an enormous ship caught us unawarews and necessitated a gybe....ugh Amazingly we did it ! The police boat was suitably impressed and Folie was not bisected . Rseults notwithstanding it was a great day.

Lovely weather and a very sociable time with great sailing on Sunday. Yes we came last in our Div BUT at least we finished as opposed to half the competition..and we had only 8 secs to spare. We even got the spinnaker up though getting it down whilst wrapped round the forestay was a challenge. Peter Du Bourg took us on a tour of "Belle" , the luxurious 60 footer he sailed down in.Folie A Deux Goes to Skandia Geelong

Saturday 24th Jan 2009 the crew of Mel, DIck, Dovie, Angela , KAte and the "Captains" set off for the start. What a start with 200 boats on the start line . We'd reefed down which did not work for us and we fell behind and downwind after an amazing start. It was lumpy and stomach challenging, especially down below and lunch was put on hold until we got there . Once we got into the Corio Channel it was on the beam and exhilarating and we arrived and rafted up to a row 5 boats deep. We immediately spied our dear "Jean" whose new owners had brought her round from Westernport. She looks great and is obviously being well cared for.
